“BTOOOM!” is the story of an unemployed young man, Ryōta Sakamoto. Who is 24 years old. He’s the top-ranked player in Japan and in the top 10 worldwide for playing this game, BTOOOM. The title was written after this game. One day, he woke up and found himself trapped with others on an island. It is the real-life version of the game he plays. In that game, he found his love interest, Himiko, who was his girlfriend in the game that he used to play. They inserted a chip (radar) in their hands to track each other easily; it cannot be removed without surgery or while staying alive. To escape the island, they must collect eight of these chips by killing other people.
“BTOOOM!” is a survival, Action, suspense and a thrill anime. It combines parts of survival games with intense action progression. The anime dives into how people survive when pushed to their limits, how they act when stressed, and what happens when conflicts turn violent.
Mostly, the story is about people trying to survive a dangerous game where they have to use bombs to stay alive. It’s not just about fighting; it’s also about how the characters deal with trust issues, betrayal, and tough decisions that test their morals. The story is about to kill or to be killed. They must kill each other in order to survive.
I have so many reasons to like this anime. I watch these types of anime most of the time because of their intense Action and dark themes. You have probably heard of the series “Squid Game.” It gives off the exact same vibes; it is more like the anime version of it, but it was made on a lower budget and is far underrated.
The animation in “BTOOOM!” is really good. I really like how this anime portrays its dark themes, especially in the fight scenes. The way they animate the characters moving and the action scenes just makes everything feel so real and intense. It’s definitely a must-watch if you’re into these kinds of anime. I highly recommend checking it out if you enjoy gripping and intense shows like this.
