In “Jujutsu Kaisen,” Yuta Okkotsu, a powerful sorcerer and second-year student at Tokyo Jujutsu High, is given the mission to eliminate Yuji Itadori. This task is not as straightforward as it seems and is steeped in strategic and compassionate motivations.
The Higher-Ups’ Directive
Yuji Itadori is the vessel of Sukuna, the King of Curses. Sukuna is a very powerful and evil curse. This makes Yuji dangerous because Sukuna could take over his body. The Higher-Ups of the Jujutsu world are scared of what Sukuna might do if this happens. So, they decide Yuji needs to be killed to stop this threat. But Gojo Satoru was protecting Yuji and threatened to not harm Yuji. That’s why the higher-ups can’t do anything. But in Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 gojo gets sealed by Kenjaku. And now higher-ups want Yuji to die.
Yuta’s True Intentions
Yuta Okkotsu is chosen to carry out the mission due to his immense strength and reputation. However, Yuta’s real goal is not to kill Yuji permanently but to protect him. Yuta plans to “kill” Yuji in a way that convinces the higher-ups that the threat has been neutralized, only to revive him afterward.
If Yuta makes the higher-ups think Yuji is dead, they’ll stop sending people to hunt him. This fake “death” gives Yuji a break from always being chased. It also lets Yuji keep fighting against Sukuna without people getting in his way.
Conclusion
Yuta’s Mission to kill Yuji isn’t as simple as it looks. While the higher-ups want Yuji dead, Yuta actually wants to protect him. His plan is to fake Yuji’s death and then bring him back to life. This trick stops the higher-ups from chasing Yuji. Yuta is strong and kind and also smart. He can easily kill the higher-ups. But instead, he strategically made a plan without killing anyone.
