Failure Frame Anime Episode 1 Review

Just watched the first episode of Failure Frame (or “Hazurewaku no Joutai Ijou Skill de Saikyou ni Natta Ore ga Subete wo Juurin suru made”). Another isekai, but this one’s trying to be all dark and edgy.

The main character, Mimori Touka gets pulled into another world, classic isekai move. But the goddess who summoned him is straight-up cruel. She basically calls him worthless and give him an E-rank. he gets dumped in some wasteland to fend for himself.

Failure Frame Mimori Touka

The whole vibe is pretty bleak. Iori runs into other rejects, and you can tell this isn’t going to be your typical happy adventure. Some flashbacks showing Iori used to be a nice guy, but people took advantage of him. Now he’s got that chip on his shoulder.

The animation’s a mixed bag. Characters look decent, but those CGI monsters, Not great. At least the voice acting’s solid – that goddess sounds ice cold.

Story-wise, it could go either way. The dark tone and revenge thing could be interesting if they don’t mess it up. But we’ve seen this kind of plot before. It all depends on how they develop Iori and handle the whole payback angle.

If you’re down for something potentially grittier, give it a try. Just don’t set your expectations too high.
