I Parry Everything Episode 8 Recap and Review

This episode begins with Noor’s backstory, where he was reading about a dragon slayer while his father narrated the story. His father explained that a dragon that causes harm is called an evil dragon, and the adventurer in the book beheaded it. Its scales, claws, fangs, and bones all become valuable ingredients for weapons and medicine, bringing wealth to the land. Thus, the adventurer became known as a dragonslayer. Noor expressed his desire to become a dragonslayer as well. His father warned him that it wouldn’t be easy—some dragons have lived for thousands of years and are incredibly powerful. The earth trembles when they move, and a swing of their tail can level mountains.

In the present time, Noor, Lynne, Ines, and Rolo are heading back to the city when Noor spots the Dragon of Calamity.

On the other side, Rein ordered everyone gathered at the evacuation site to move outside the city immediately, insisting that anyone who tries to stay should be dragged out and no one should be left behind.

Gilbert advised the king to retreat to safety, saying they wouldn’t stand a chance if the dragon attacked. However, the king insisted that his duty was to protect the people and lead the evacuees outside. He don’t want to run away.

Lynne started worrying about her father and the city after seeing the dragon. Noor asked Lynne if her dad and brother were still in town. Lynne replied that they likely stayed behind, but it might be too late to save them. Noor assured Lynne that they could make it if they used the same tactic they had used during the goblin hunt. Although Lynne was concerned about the massive impact, Noor was determined to help them, and Lynne realized that it might not be too late after all.

Ines created a cylinder with her divine shield and instructed Noor to stand in front of it. Lynne then cast a series of spells—Magic Barrier, Reflect, Magic Reflect, Enhance, Charge, Burst, Condense—onto the cylinder. She followed this up with Multicast, Six-Fold Cast, and Windblast to send Noor flying into the city. Noor used body enhancement to control this.

Meanwhile, the king decided to fight the dragon instead of running away. He wielded the Blasting Sword, pouring all his mana and determination into one final attack. Noor quickly approached the city with Lynne’s magic, nearly crashing into the dragon. Just as the dragon was about to attack the king, Noor intervened and attacked the dragon.

On the other hand, Lynne, Ines, and Rolo faced off against Goblin Emperors. Rolo controlled them with his command, while Ines used her divine sword to cut them down. Lynne also assisted in defeating the Goblin Emperors. Meanwhile, Noor continued his battle with the dragon and beat that dragon. The dragon calms down.

Review

Overall, this episode was good and not boring at all. It covered many things well, although it didn’t have as much intense action or as many funny scenes as some might expect. Still, it was overall good and worth watching.
