Reason Why You Should Watch Blue Lock

Plot and Storyline

The Japan national team finished 16th in the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The Japan Football Union hires the football enigma Ego Jinpachi. His master plan to lead Japan to stardom is Blue Lock, a training regimen designed to create the world’s greatest egotist striker. Those who fail Blue Lock will never again be permitted to represent Japan. Yoichi Isagi, an unknown high school football player who is conflicted about his playing style, decides to join the program in order to become the best striker in the world.

Who will emerge to lead the team… and will they be able to out-muscle and out-ego everyone who stands in their way? There’s not much of a genuine serious drama in there. It’s very goal-oriented, and all the dramas that happen in the middle are because of the goal. And that’s what keeps most of the viewers hooked.

Animation and Art Style

Blue Lock Animation and Art Style

The animation of Blue Lock was pretty amazing, even though some of its fans say otherwise, and I can see why. Though its animations were amazing, it could’ve been better since they didn’t have much time to properly produce the animation. But even then, it is pretty good and added with its thrilling story and storyline. It never ceases to keep the viewer hooked on it.

The matches and tournaments feel supernatural, and although I must say they didn’t have the time to do their best, you can’t help but be thrilled by it. Excitement always finds its way to you.

Characters

Blue Lock Characters

Blue Lock heats up as Yoichi Isagi and his fellow strikers prepare for the next stage of their cutthroat training.

The Blue Lock season 2 cast welcomes a wave of talented newcomers, each with a unique skill set and a burning ambition to become the next egotistical striker Japan needs.

Every character with their own uniqueness and their support and their carelessness represents the series in a really different way. And it’s always a pleasure for the viewers to see such a straightforward series.

Sound and Music

Blue Lock Sound and Music

Blue Lock’s original soundtracks are really good and it has made their place in the hearts of many fans. The soundtracks makes the whole series even more great as adrenaline rushes through the viewer’s veins, they lose track of time and are completely concentrated on the series.

That’s what makes up a great sound effect and soundtrack. it matches the mood and tournaments and all the emotions that go with it perfectly. To the observer it represents to them half of the thing they observe absentmindedly. it’s simply great.

Themes

Blue Lock Themes

The anime explores themes of ambition, rivalry, and self-discovery as Isagi and his fellow players navigate the physical and psychological challenges of the program. The focus of the Blue Lock compound is the ability of the players to adapt and evolve.

Just like in real life, individual talent and ego have their place, but in bringing them together with a well-rounded team, each with their own selfishness, weapons, and skill, BLUELOCK reveals a truth about soccer: that the greatness of one player is ultimately the result of those around them.

Overall Impression

Blue Lock also seemed to be a sports anime. I went in biased, but after watching just the first episode, I got hooked. It has many typical anime cliches, but they aren’t boring at all. In fact, this anime has one of the best ways of storytelling.

Blue Lock isn’t a genuine, serious drama; it’s a ridiculous, over-the-top “thriller.” The ridiculous visual metaphors for the ridiculous things the characters think and pull off are meant to be… well, ridiculous. And ridiculousness is humorous.

It injects excitement with adrenaline in your blood. I haven’t seen a viewer of it disappointed, although it may not have everything as an anime series. It still holds itself to the top, and to any anime lover, I recommend this series to you. I assure you, it’ll be worth it.
