Solo Leveling Season 1 Review

Plot and Storyline

The story of solo leveling was very interesting when it first came out. However, it has become cliche since so many stories are like that. We get to see Sung JinWoo, who’s trying to be a hunter in a world of gates. But has the lowest grading among the hunters. As the lowest grade, he can only be cannon fodder. Thus, he stays very close to death. Suddenly, with courage, he rose from a disaster. And this is the story of the lowest-grade hunter becoming a world-class hunter.

The plot is very progress-oriented, although there’s some drama in between. The main character is an upright character with free will. In a world, where the hunters are graded with how much mana they can bear, he is the only one who can level up infinitely. that is what makes the plot more interesting as the characters around the mc slowly gets to know the mc’s real superpower but he has harder battles to fight.

Animation and Art Style

Solo Leveling Animation and Art Style

The animations in this show is sharp and elusive. MC and all of the other strong characters has an elusive art style, other than that, the normal characters are just sharp to show the distinction. the entry scene of major characters coming out is always a pleasure for fans.

Solo leveling’s art style was one of the first of it’s style to get famous and get copied everywhere. it just shows how solo leveling’s art style created a new era for it. Every time it’s a display of certain emotions or the display of strength, it always leaves the viewer amazed and gasped.

Solo Leveling Sound and Music

The soundtrack was just as good as the animation. Especially, ‘Echo’ has become quite famous amongst the fans and more. sound effects in the fights and entry scenes are just so good and matched with the great animation gives the viewer a great experience with emotions mixed with every anticipated fight and plots. the emotions carried by the sounds effects are very clear and that does more than it’s job.

Themes

Solo Leveling Themes

Solo leveling was thought to be very progress oriented, and simple at first. But as time passes, you can’t help but be surprised at it’s plot twist. it’s the average story of a weak character becoming the top of the foodchain, but in this case, withholding his values and his opinions which mattered to him when he was in the lowest.

Solo leveling enthralls it’s viewer with sung jinwoo’s decisiveness and his character development. and it also shows the stronger the character is, the harder his battles are, and the greater his responsibilities are. it’s a simple view but with great contrast.

Overall Impression

Solo Leveling was a great anime in terms of it’s animation and everything aligned with it. Amongst all it’s copies, it shines bright as it is the most authentic. It’s not so grand in it’s schemes, but each plot can be felt through pain, love, warmth, adrenaline rush and so on. which keeps the viewer never leave the show.

It’s definitely not perfect, but overall, it’s not lacking in anything. In the anime world, it has made the greatest waves. And it almost always keeps the viewer stuck.

if you are into adrenaline induced fights and little drama but straight forward motives, you should definitely take a look at Solo leveling. It makes the viewer feel great, has very straight forward goals, and sometimes makes you really hyped and sometimes make you quite emotional. it has a story to tell however simple it looks to be.
